Re: What do you do to get yourself in the writing mood?

on movies... if I use something it is from something someone said that triggers a train reaction in my brain and I twist it... I'd be really good at writing bad... twisted horror weird stuff because of it. I often have to make it normal for the sim but it works. I have a mission plot brewing in my ...

Re: What do you do to get yourself in the writing mood?

I agree with Juuls that a big part is just not stopping. If I hit a wall, sometimes I have to just force it; if I take a break I may not come back to it, which has happened. That is a terrible state to be in. Another thing that I didn't think about before but is always critical is the character itse...

Re: Missions and Plots

Well, since I just took command of the Nimitz... I think the first thing is going to be wrapping up our unfinished plot. As far as for a main plot, I actually do have an idea. I was working towards creating another sim, which I am putting on temporary hold, so I may hijack some of the early plot ele...

Re: What do you do to get yourself in the writing mood?

Lately I have been overwhelmed, but generally it is a mixture of things. Shows are too distracting. Often, and this is especially important if I need a particular mood, I will listen to certain types of instrumental music or music with very few lyrics. I am also prone to going for long runs or walks...

Re: If you could steal a ship and bring it home with you...

One other thing that I would want to bring back, and this actually finds itself more or less rooted in real scientific advancements rather than anything presented directly in the show, is the ability to manipulate our genetics. It has been suggested that at some point in our future as we continue to...

Re: [Proposed] Hands Free Tricorder Unit

More or less. You could even use things like giving it a heads up display, in the vein of Google Glass, or the like. Similar to how you could havea bluetooth device connected wirelessly to your cellphone, I imagine they'd have something even more advanced and useful in that era that the shows design...

Re: If you could steal a ship and bring it home with you...

Interesting question, and something I had actually thought of in the past. Honestly, it is likely that, while some of my favorite ships are the smaller ones (like the fan-made Seeker), I would much rather take a larger more exploration-oriented starship. Of course you run into the usual issues of ev...

It's nice. Not overstated or overly flashy. I like it.

Re: [Proposed] Quisquilliae Class Transport

It looks really dated. I think even civilian or work-class ships should still have more or less a modern look to them; as is, this ship is really TOS era in appearance. Was it in service back then as well?

Re: [Proposed] Hands Free Tricorder Unit

How is that any different from a standard tricorder? Tricorders come in a variety of types; there is the stock universal tricorder, as well as specialized medical, science, and engineering tricorders (as well as, oddly enough, a psychotricorder for use by counselors of all things.) I guess what I am...
