Face it, the once dreaded Borg Cubes now get chewed up like candy mints, just like Romulan Warbirds. What they need... is an upgrade.
Well, have I got a deal for you! The Borg assimilated Dominion orbital defence platforms. They now apply that technology to their drones. The result is, drone defences and weapons can be fed all the power that they can handle from mother cube's reactors. Less dependence upon puny power packs. Think of it as a weapon implementation of Microsoft dot-net technology.
... makes the cybernetic version of communists much tougher to fight.
The mission here? Survive an encounter.
