Hi,
1. Why does the Excalibur class have a "Primart"? on Deck 23
Secondly... where the heck is the warp core? O_o; We have an ejection hatch but no core!
I'd also like some more information about the core. For instance, power supply, how big it is, what model it is. Thanks.

Sharp eye! Primary, not Primart. When you are typing in ship specs... It's a lot of typing.
As for the warp core, the M/ARA is in main engineering, which I took to be common sense at the time.

=p not sure if it has been changed yet, that was reported quite a while ago.
Normally it's common sense that engineering is located around the warp core, but these are ships specifications and techies know just how people like play when something isn't defined. *was so tempted to have the warp core in the middle of the bridge*

Actually, I'd like to design a Starfleet vessel where the Bridge isn't sticking out in the middle of space so that it can be nailed with a direct hit.

That's a good point, I always thought (before looking at the designs) that the bridge was 'inside' the ship protected from outside attack. It is pretty much the most important part of a ship. Following that my assumption was that the viewing screen wasn't a direct view into space but more of a video link that could be altered real time. Maybe we could look into designing one with those characteristics?

Re: Excalibur Class Queries
Isn't the Defiant's bridge more central to the structure? I'd have said that ships designed specifically for battle would take that kind of design consideration into mind, whereas others would likely follow the old naval design of having the bridge up at the top. To be honest, aside from the congregation of senior officers there, I'd have said that it was less important than main engineering is, especially since all controls can be re-routed there.
