Re: Proposal: Change PFA to PFEC and Eliminate Admiral Ranks

I suppose I'll weigh in as one of the old dogs on the street. From what I know/experienced/understand from back when the fleet was formed (Terris can correct me if I'm wrong) the reasoning behind the PFA and ranks was never to delineate and REAL authority over people. Most of the time the PFA were q...

Re: Proposal: Changes to PF Judicial System

While I can agree we aren't talking about a true legal system we are talking about a set of rules designed to protect all members of the fleet and the community itself. Believe it or not, many organizations, even things like hobby clubs have rules and draft up constitutions. The means in which it's ...

Re: Proposal: Changes to PF Judicial System

I see where you guys are going with the CO council, but here is the issue I can foresee. The CO council is a body not independent of the CoC, they are all a part of it while they may not be in that players direct chain, they are part of the Chain nonetheless and this removes the appearance of impart...

Re: Proposal: Changes to PF Judicial System

I'll put my two cents in as a former senior member of the Admiralty to shed light on what the purpose of the JAG office is its importance as it has been lost for quite sometime. First thing is first and once again needs to be repeated. Discipline is the responsibility of the Chain of Command. Sim co...

Re: CO Course

Advancements are done throughout time and showing dedication to running your sim. Currently a CO begins as a Lt. Cmdr but it immediately promoted to Cmdr following completion of the CO course. After this generally a Commander will see a promotion to Captain in 6 months however this is at the discret...

Re: CO Course

Honestly there is nothing forbidding any player from taking the CO course without an application or ship. Generally the reason for the recommendation or having an existing ship is constraints on the Academy staff. Currently we have three instructors in the Academy so if we were seeing an influx in s...

Re: CO Course

The exception to this is a recommendation by your sim Commanding Officer, but generally as Terris said it does coincide with Ship applications.

Re: About being an XO

Hello! With regards to being an XO on a sim you need only the acceptance of the Commanding Officer of that sim. Given your experience I do not see that being a problem. While there are no requirements to be an XO we do offer an XO course at the academy for players who feel they might need a guide to...
