Your First PC
Your First PC
Ok, so I was talking with a few of my friends about our early experiences with computers, and it got me thinking - what was everyone's first PC that they owned? Are you a relatively recent newcomer to PCs with Windows XP, Vista, or even 7, did you start back with 98, 95 or even MS-DOS? Or was your first something else entirely?
My first was an old Windows 95 machine - a Compaq, I think. The only PC I've had that was designed to lie flat with a huge heavy monitor on top of it, and which had a switch rather than a button to turn it on and off (when you shut it down you had to sit and wait for it to tell you to turn it off at the switch).
I remember that we went through so many floppy discs to make sure that we saved all of our games of Theme Hospital on that thing

Re: Your First PC
I had a custom built 387 system. I can't remember if it was 95 or 98 it ran... I think it was 95.
First PC I ever used, however, was an old DOS based computer that my dad had. Don't remember what brand or model, just remember ye olde orange and black on the screen

Computer period was a Commodore 64. Lots of school work and games on that thing. The first Personal Computer was a Hewlitt-Packard with Windows 3.11

Okay date yourself post...
My first computer was a cassette drives Atari 400 that plugged into the television. I played a few games on there my favorite was Zaxon, it took 30 minutes to load the game so you could play it. But I learned to program basic language on it and created a random game of chance that allowed you to move through an imaginary environment and if you made good decisions you could loop for hours.
The worst part about that computer was the keyboard had flat keys which if you did not press hard enough would not register and if you pressed too hard you endded up with double leterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs. So that is my story.

Re: Your First PC
I remember having an old Tandy with Windows 3.1, but I didn't use it much. I mostly used an HP with Windows 95 when I was little.
