Day Care
Of COURSE there will be day care for tiny people!
Nothing could be more simple. Just look up the plans for TNG Enterprise saucer section!

Re: Hotel Trek
Class of Ship
I would like to offer the MIRANDA CLASS for the hotel design.
(The main saucer could have a heavy support column acenter the main saucer, if cantilever isn't stable enough to meet quake specs.)
From an architectural standpoint, it would be far easier and less expensive to manufacture than high-nacelles like a Constitution.
(High Nacelles would have to be constructed atop sculptured terrain, if they were to support any weight.)
Inside the big struts, stairways and TurboLifts take you to the Saucer Section.
Outside the big struts? How about a wide waterslide be incorporated? Pretty darn quick egress in a hotel fire-drill situation, if you ask me.
Since the big nacelles are on the ground, that would enable a multitude of entrances for deliveries, guest check-ins, supply, and office infrastructure.
The saucer could be more exclusively guest-focused. (I still think a swimming pool in one nacelle would be cool.)

Jeffreys Tubes
Jeffreys Tubes
Oh yeah, plenty of them. Some lead to "hidden" parts of the ship. (You know, the secret-passage mystique.)
That would keep kids occupied for DAYS.
Have the 'tubes' be passages above corridors, etc.
The "floors" of the tubes could be grated roofs to corridors and rooms.
... good ventilation and it's easy to look up (and down) to see who's there.
These would be great for Laser err- Phaser tag games, more ways to surround those pesky Klingon boarders!

Hotel & Visitor Decks
I've been doing this wrong.
The hotel aspect of the starship is good, but it shouldn't be limited to just that.
If I were a kid in school, I'd love to go hang out at "the starship" after school.
And the starship, as it were, should accommodate that.
Partnering with the community for after school activities could be a good thing.
Giving some kind of 'credits' for scoring good grades in school would turn many slackers into A students.
Saucer section:
- Motel Guest Deck. Normal motels don't allow non-guest traffic. Neither should the ship.
- Activities Deck. Here, 'Day Visitors' might mingle with hotel guests. Gift shops, arcades, etc.
Not enough room for that all? Ihh, build a Starbase nearby.

Packages
I don't know about you, but I hate being nickeled and dimed to death at tourist spots.
Various types of tourist packages should be made available.
Not having to look over your credit card shoulder all the time is part of a restful experience.
For example, I might purchase a package online which has options:
- My daughter wants to costume up as an Andorian.
- Junior wants to play organized phaser tag games, and wants to keep "the gun".
- Go ahead and sign us up for the 'cruise ship food' arrangement.
- Family wants a group picture with Shatner during his visit.
- We want to rent TOS communicators. (Cel phone with lots of speed dials.)
Buy that all in advance, and permissions can be downloaded into your teet-communicator.
(I'm sorry, but that's what it is.) you can upgrade options during your visit.
Let's get some discounts for Groups going, too. (One for veteran simmers? )
I don't know how ambitious that Paramount would want to get with the prototype.
However, opportunities and expansions need to be recognized and anticipated, if the ship is to be successful.

No, not at all.chafre wrote:Have you developed a business plan with earnings projections?
At this point, I'm still trying to grasp what this beast might be.
After the goal is defined, then will come the 'how to do it' plan.
Frankly, business plans aren't my forte.
I should think, however, that Bransonians would want to work that out.
.... 'Bransonites'??...

Must include a Fisbin table.
Imaginary credits money can win prizes.
And/or, profits get donated to charity?
