Hello,

I wandered across a few of your sims while browsing pbm.com and thought I'd drop in and look around more thoroughly.

I've been in various RPG since the ancient days of D&D with dice and paper, but only got into internet sims about 7 years ago. As far as Star Trek goes, I've played bulletin board RPG at insanejournal based on ST:2009, an independent Nova sim which sadly folded after a year, and a yahoo groups PBEM that been running since 2011 but is scheduled to wrap up by the end of this year. (Sadly, the gamemaster plans to take a break from Trek and do Robotech, which is not one of my fandoms). I haven't joined any of the fleets before because frankly the lists of regs and Academy reqs usually seem a bit daunting and/or stifling, but I'm already feeling a bit bereft at the idea of finding myself without a group of writers to "boldly go..." (whether to adventure or humorous trope-defying insanity).

So... I'm looking to rehome some characters that have developed lives of their own in my head (They're fine - I swear! - they rarely bite. ...okay, nip occasionally, and maybe bark, but they're completely housebroken. Really). I'm fine with tweaking histories or restarting them at lower ranks or even finding a fun friendly game in which to develop new ones.

Welcome to our little home. I am sure we can find a home somewhere.

Thanks. There do seem to be a lot of options here.

Welcome aboard. Pegasus is a great community. Check us out on Discord if you've not already stopped by!

Thanks. Quick question: It says voice chat. Is that the only option?

I've used various text and IM for chatting in groups and working on plot ideas, but I have hearing issues. I can hear sounds just fine, but have difficulty resolving them into words, so I usually can't understand half of what anyone says over a cell phone. I doubt voice chat would work for me.

Discord is like a lower-quality TeamSpeak combined with IRC. Persistent chat, text and PMs, and voice capabilities if you so choose. Most of us just to text so you should be fine. If you've used IRC, Discord will feel good.
