Actually, with the tail, I was thinking more "Kangaroo"...

But with reptilian and fish in your blood, I'd think that rather than ears like that, you'd have recessed holes in the side of your head...

Better be careful of the stowaway and the CO, though... You know how cats can be about fish...

The best I can think to do is to provide a few suggestions for making a request for a character-in-uniform/Avatar that will help you get what you want.

1. Details - The more we know, the more we'll be able to work with. If your character has dog's ears, are they like a basset hound's ears, a bichon frise's ears or a Doberman's? Do they pop out the top of the head, or the sides?

2. Base Images - It's best to provide an image that is as close to what you want as possible with certain criteria:

• The image should be as clear as possible. Good focus and clarity will improve the quality of the work returned.
• The image should display all of the person's head, all of their hair and a good portion of their neck.
• They should be in a position that is easy to shop. Looking over their shoulder, for example, is not easy to work with.
• Provide us with your character's position aboard the ship and their rank, and what era uniform (TNG, Early DS9/Voyager or quilted-shoulder DS9/TNG Movies.

3. Major alterations are difficult. Photoshop and Gimp don't have buttons for klingonifying, changing hair and eye colors and the like. These are slow and delicate processes. For best results, do what you can to make things easier for the 'shopper.

Also, in addition to Owen's criteria, try and include the name of the person whom you want photoshopped. Sometimes it may be necessary for the artist to search around for a slightly different picture than the one you provided to fit into a uniform image (despite the many times we've seen uniforms on Trek, finding someone in a specific position is often nearly impossible) - it's a great help if we know who we're looking for
