Starship Troopers

Yes, I fully realize that reference to the movie will set purist book fans into a frenzy.
However, let's move on to 'WWSTD?'
Yep, those nasty Clendathu Bugs are at it again!
They're hurling asteroids across hyperspace towards Federation planets.
(A chance to use those tricobalt bombs we've been toting around for all these years.)
They've begun invading colonial worlds.
If they're not stopped, they'll strip planet after planet clean.

It might not be so easy for the mighty starships to handle.
Giant Bug batteries won't one-punch a starship, but the burning plasma will steadily burn deflectors away.
You'll be forced to pull out of orbit and let your fearless ground teams handle things.
"Bug Noise" might be fritzing target locks.
Colonists on the ground prevent you from using the almighty nukes.

And on the ground? Well, phasers might not mob up masses of bugs quite so easily.
SOMEbody taught the bugs how to spin a tough, ablative silk armor.
Invite the Klingons. You'll need them. Besides, they'll feel offended if you don't.

All you high testosterone simms should like this one!

Edit - Ohhh... O-kay. Warm up a couple of Battletech mechs, if y ou must. ;)

I totally want to do a Starship Troopers like of mission arc for Starbase Zeta!
