Does the slower Maximum Speed take in account the dual warp core?

Everything else looks nice. I imagine you didn't change up much of the deck listings.

Hm, I think that the new maximum speed should take into account the heavier loading capacity, so this should be right. The dual core however would enable a lot more power to be dedicated towards weapons, especially since carriers are potentially sitting ducks once engaged.

Then again, I think the Director would have already taken that into account. (That is, hoping he did the energy calculations)

Just a quick thought if the ship can carry 10,000....why not increase the size of the normal compliment?

also....is it supposed to have two compliments of quantum torps.

The emergency capacity means the flight deck would be loaded with evacuees. The normal compliments are about right for a ship that size.

The 2 different sets of quantum torpedoes are tied to the particular launcher types.

I think it could go faster as we've seen some pretty big ships make some pretty high speeds... the Galaxy makes it past warp 9 when they fire-wall the warp core and this ship's got two. If both are pushed to the limit, I could see it making speeds more to warp 9.4 and 9.6... If I recall, even the Akira can reach 9.4...

Galaxy is made for exploration, it's designed to make maximum use of speed.

The Lex is a carrier, designed to carry things.

I wouldn't put the galaxy as high speed though, after a few days of high warp they had to sit for repairs... It was that episode where they found those DNA connections between all the species...
