In order to keep in service so long between resupply, Luna Class Vessels are outfitted with Gas Scoops, Gas Separation and Refinement Centers, as well as Solids Refinement Centers. The scoops are used to skim the outer atmosphere of gas giants. Sections of Asteroids can be taken in through the cargo bays. Both resources are run through their respective refinement centers and processed into the Primary and Secondary stores, which in turn provide the materials for the replicators ship-wide.

Just curious, but where'd you get the figure for the number of decks from? I've seen a number of different specs for the Luna, and none of them can really agree on a number, but most tend to be higher than what we have here.

Also, the Arbotoreum I think could possibly be on a lower deck... when reading the topic about it and seeing some notes from the designer, he mentioned the blue glass-like bit which was the Arbo, in homage to the Enterprise's, and it was nearer the lower part of the engineering hull. I think I saw a MSD someone drew up of the class which showed Stellar Cartography on something like decks 6&7, or somewhere about there (it went onto both, since it is described and depicted as a large domed room).

I'll see if I can dig up the bits I'm referring to, though knowing scifi meshes they've likely deleted a lot of the stuff, since it was considered 'old'

Looks pretty good, but I could see fitting marines on it, even the smaller ships carry a few around even if just for the purpose of extra defense. A squad would seem to fit in as they might not see frequent use, but they would be useful on the ground for away missions and such...

I've only ever seen what I'd call marines, in ENT... Marines are specialist, very specialist stuff and should be used sparingly.

The Luna is also a science ship, designed for extensive exploration... only the combat-focused ships should have marines, imo.

The number of Decks is an average of the 4 sets of specs I compiled for ours...

Marines? It's a Long Range Explorer... Marines are a Fanfic addition to the Genre... We didn't see them in the series because Explorer types should NEVER have marines...

As there have been no new discussions on this for the past 3 days and a week of discussions has passed, the review on this class is now considered complete, and the specs have been entered in the Ship Database.

Again, if anyone who chipped in on the review wishes to join the tech team on a more permanent basis, simply send me an email at randd@pegasusfleet.net telling me why you think you would make a good addition to the tech team and we'll see about getting you involved.
