Good one! We will add this as a sub-module to the Chemical Distribution module as a drafting/filtration system.

See, and VAdm. Williams was worried that the chemical dispersion one would be militaristic.

Only if they hate pure, clean water. ;)

How about:

AWACS: Air Wing Assault Command

In the field, its hard to spare a runabout or even shuttle to manage the airborne operations if your away from the ship (or the enemy does something smart like kill that big coms array that is screaming SHOOT ME). After troops hit the deck, this module can be equipped very easily almost anywhere to control air operations as or after Air Superiority is secured.

Tactical Reconnasiance Mobile

Recon is always hard to get, TARPS only does so much on the fighters, but a dedicated module to scan the area, intercept coms, and exploit the enemy's electronic weaknesses would greatly reduce some of the load that comes down and guarantee nothing is forgotten. In peace times, it can be used as one node in a network for data, sensors, telecoms and more.

I think I need to stress that the strength of the Serenity is that it is Modular, hence Modules. The designs that we have are position and drop. The Serenity itself is more valuable than it's modules, because if the Serenity itself is destroyed, it's worse than if a shuttle is destroyed, because that leaves the modules left on the ship practically worthless. Even if you decidedly win the battle, you can't deploy that MASH module to rescue the pilots from the downed fighters, you can't deploy the Habitation or Tactical Command Pod either.

That being said, modules like the latest suggested tie up the Serenity and keep it in danger, or worse yet, leave the module a sitting duck if the Serenity does drop it in space.

Eh, I shoot big, shoot odd and see what actually hits...

Do we have a "bunk" module or "bunker" one yet? (can't hurt to have a flying gun-ship/bunker to retreat to)

You know, I have been struggling with these trying to think of any modules that would be useful in a ground combat theater that we haven't come up with yet.

We've got:
habitat
construction
mash
cargo
Argo
mess hall
chemical dispersant/ water purification
marine command
Basic "Drop"
Shroud (for observation like in ST: Insurrection)

it's tough to think of many more since we've come up with a lot of examples of "drop and forget" equipment.

How about a shield projector module. Projects a tunable deflector dome that can be used for a variety of shielding needs.

For that matter, maybe some ground defenses. Gun emplacements and the like.
