Hello everyone!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season! December tends to be the time of year when everything slows down so we can spend more time with our families. But I still have several announcements for you this month.

First off, I’m excited to announce that we have a couple of promotions this month. Commander Frank Kamar, Commanding Officer of the USS Pennsylvania as well as Task Force 37, has been promoted to Captain. Additionally, Commander Abigail Laurens, Commanding Officer of the USS Astraea and acting Commanding Officer of Task Force 56 has also been promoted to Captain. Both of them have worked hard to develop their sims as well as their task forces and the Fleet. Congratulations to Captain Kamar and Captain Laurens!

Also this month I’m excited to announce that we have a new Commanding Officer, Commander Tharia sh’Elas of the Luna-class USS Ulysses. Please give a warm welcome to our newest commanding officer and their crew!

As a reminder to our commanding officers and executive officers, we will be holding a recruitment workshop immediately following the monthly meeting on Sunday. COs and XOs who wish to attend, but have not yet signed up, must contact Admiral Devane (@Amethyst) prior to the start of the workshop. In order to avoid unnecessary disruptions to the workshop, we will not be admitting anyone else once the workshop has started. So please be sure to let Admiral Devane know as soon as possible, ideally before the start of the monthly meeting.

The last bit of news this month is an exciting one. After much discussion and deliberation, the Pegasus Fleet Admiralty are excited to present four Fleet awards for 2019! The awards being presented this year include Commanding Officer of the Year, Executive Officer of the Year, New Commanding Officer Encouragement Award, and Pegasus Fleet Sim of the Year. We have so many excellent candidates for these awards, which has made the process very difficult to choose only one winner.

The Commanding Officer of the Year is awarded to the Commanding Officer who has shown exemplary leadership and motivational skills, not only for their own sim but for Pegasus Fleet as a whole. The Commanding Officer of the year encourages their crew to work hard and maintain average active status throughout the year, as well as continually conducting themselves in a manner befitting of a Pegasus Fleet Commanding Officer by demonstrating conduct consistent with the philosophies and visions of the Fleet.

The 2019 Commanding Officer of the Year goes to Fleet Captain William Hood of the USS Dreadnought!

The Executive Officer of the Year is awarded to an Executive Officer who continually demonstrates a consistent level of direction and dedication for their own sim, as well as displaying, through individual contributions, consistent support, and exemplary dedication to Pegasus Fleet as a whole.

The 2019 Executive Officer of the Year goes to Lt. Commander Ichiko Gail of the USS Astraea!

The New Commanding Officer Encouragement Award is awarded to a Commanding Officer, who, in their first year of Command best demonstrates outstanding direction and a consistent level of guidance, leadership and activity, not only for their own sim, but to help forge a positive future for the Fleet through community service, active engagement, dedication and commitment.

The 2019 New Commanding Officer Encouragement Award goes to Captain Frank Kamar of the USS Pennsylvania!

Finally, the Pegasus Fleet Sim of the Year is awarded to the sim that has best demonstrated the ideals that Pegasus Fleet is built upon. Throughout the year, this sim has demonstrated a high commitment to writing through not only the quantity of their posts, but also the quality as measured by both their level of activity from month to month and the results of our Post of the Month polls.

The 2019 Pegasus Fleet Sim of the Year goes to the USS Astraea!

Congratulations to all of our winners! We are proud to have you as representatives of our Fleet!

This month’s meeting will be held in the #meeting channel on Discord this Sunday, January 12 at 3:00 pm EST / 8:00 pm GMT. The meeting is open to all members of Pegasus Fleet and any guests that may be interested in learning more about our community. The next meeting will be on Sunday, February 16.

As always, Live Long and Prosper
Alex
