Monthly Update - March 2021

Post by Alex » Sat Mar 13, 2021 9:58 am

Hello everyone!

It’s been a crazy month full of snowstorms, conferences, and simming. I hope everyone has been staying safe out there. For many of us, March has signaled the start of warmer weather. Spring will be here before we know it.

I have a handful of announcements for you this month. First off we have some new COs. Commander Lorenzo Barber has taken over for Commander Venik as the new commanding officer of the Olympic-class USS Comfort. Bringing in a brand new sim is Commander Gary Jaramillo of the Sentinel-class USS Vigilant. And finally, Captain Michelle Bartlett and the crew of the Sovereign-class USS Wellington have joined Pegasus Fleet. Please join me in congratulating and welcoming our new commanding officers and crew!

In February two Pegasus Fleet sims celebrated their anniversaries. On February 19, the USS Omaha celebrated their first anniversary! And on February 23, Starbase 332 celebrated their eleventh anniversary! Congratulations to both sims!

February was a busy month for Pegasus Fleet as one of the co-hosts of the Third Annual Khitomer Conference, a roleplaying conference that was held on February 20. Several members of Pegasus Fleet led discussion panels during the event. We will spend some time discussing the event during our meeting on Sunday. For those who weren’t able to attend, but would still like to read through the discussions, the transcripts of the event are available on the Khitomer Conference website here.

We’ll close off this month some updates from our Resources department. The team has been hard at work this past month on several new projects. I’ll let them share most of the details during our March meeting. First off, we’re excited to unveil the first new ship class that is unique and original to Pegasus Fleet, the brand-new Monarch-class!

In our February meeting, it was announced that the Resources team was posting a poll to determine what 23rd Century Discovery-era ships classes we would be considering for addition to the Pegasus Fleet rosters. Our members had the opportunity to vote for their favorites. The winners of this poll are the Crossfield, Walker, and Nimitz classes! So stay tuned for those specs to be added in the coming months.

Finally, I’d like to finish up with a reminder from the Resources group. There have been a number of requests coming in to the Resources team lately, and it’s always great to see so many people interested in learning more about the things the team has been working on or eager to share ideas of their own. With that in mind, in order to keep the team from getting overwhelmed with projects, we ask that requests and submissions for the Department of Resources first go through your commanding officers.

Our meeting this month will be held in the #meeting channel on Discord this Sunday, March 14 at 3:00 pm EDT / 7:00 pm GMT. The meeting is open to all members of Pegasus Fleet and any guests that may be interested in learning more about our community. Please note the slight time adjustment. Daylight Saving Time will have begun in the US prior to the start of the meeting. The next meeting will be on Sunday, April 11.

As always, Live Long and Prosper
Alex
