Pegasus Fleet Admiralty in Search of Award Suggestions

Post by Terris » Thu Mar 18, 2010 1:28 am

My fellow Fleeters,

The Pegasus Fleet Admiralty is in need of your assistance. We are currently looking into the awards for the fleet and here is where you come in.

We would like for everyone to enter in what kind of awards you would like here in Pegasus Fleet. As some of you know we are trying to get away from the most common used ones that you have seen on other fleets so we are looking for unique awards both In-Character and Out-of-Character awards.

Here is how you can submit your suggestions. Simply reply to this topic and write in the following:

Award Title:
Award Image (Optional):
Award Description:
Award Level:

Award Levels are as follows:
Level 1: Common simm awards [ex. Crew's Choice, Time served, etc.]
Level 2: Departmental Awards
Level 3: Fleet Awards
Level 4: Year End Awards

{When submitting awards please remember Levels three and four awards can only be entered in by DPM Director only.}

Because I'm too lazy to write it out again:

[18:45] <Miko> i want a Darwin Award
[18:45] <@[CookMasterWong]> a what??
[18:46] <Miko> LOL
[18:46] <Miko> don't tell me you never heard of the darwin awards
...
[18:47] <Miko> but the official darwin awards is when people contribute to the human gene pool by taking themselves out of it by doing something stupid to get themselves killed or damn close
[18:47] <Miko> it would be closely related to humor, but the character(s) would have to have done something really stupid in character
[18:48] <@[Krace]> is what is essentially a 'stupidity award' something that people will be happy to get, though?
[18:48] <Miko> i loved the darwin awards that my ambulance corps does
[18:48] <Miko> its a moral thing
[18:49] <Miko> one guy (who's name also happened to be Darwin) backed the ambulance into the garage door ... that was just repaired the week before by someone who also backed into it

Starfleet mark of civilian recognition

In recognition of the extraordinary actions taken by men and women who do not wear a Starfleet uniform!

Level: you figure that one out :)

There is no real degree to the award, simply it denotes how many times the award was received.

Level 1 Awards:

- In Character Bravery Award
- Out of Character Technical Award (for those who help out with DBs, website stuff etc)
- Research & Development Award (for those who submit an idea which is used by R&D)
- Academy Merit Award (Cadet & Command) (for those who successfully complete the Command and Cadet academies. These would be two seperate awards)

I'll cook up some more soon.

Well done with the Awards. Still want more from all members.

Now I am changing the Award Levels.

And here they are:

Award Levels are as follows:
Level 1: Common standard Awards [ex. Crew's Choice, Time served, etc.]
Level 2: CO Nomination [Departmental Awards]
Level 3: Fleet Awards [Fleetwide Nomination -- Post of the Month, Simm Awards, Etc.]
Level 4: Awards Nominated by PF Command Staff/Admiralty

Reminder: Levels 3 & 4 can only be input into Service Record by DPM Director or Pegasus Fleet CO or XO in the absence of the DPM Director.

Level 4: Blue Diamond Award.

To be awarded to a character/player that has shown 'outstanding' skill and commitment to Pegasus Fleet above and beyond the call of duty.

Requirements to be met prior to nomination.
1. The player must have served in the fleet as a writer for more than two months
2. The player must be 'active'
3. The player must have submitted 'background' and 'mission' posts
4. The player must have already been 'nominated' for a level 3 award and successfully achieved a level 2 award.

Notes
------
This isn't an award for the best literary work, this is an award that shows the very best and brightest in our fleet.
Level 1: Wings

To be awarded to a character whom has passed the cadet academy and have an active posting for one month OR to be an active poster for two months.

Requirements
1. Player must have a character that has lasted one month (unless Commanding officer asked for termination of character)
2. Player must have a moderate level of literary competency.
Level 4: Kitchener's Heir

To be awarded to for outstanding dedication and loyalty to fleet, having recruited over [25%] of the fleet population.

Requirements
1. Recruits must not all be a member of the person's department, ship, task group, task force and so on.
2. All recruits must be 'active' for a period of two months. (I recommend just looking at records)
3. Player must be an active writer
4. Player must not hold a PFA position. (Due to Requirement 1)

I'm sure I could come up with more I just can't think of any at this moment in time. Hope they're useful.
