For the last several months Starfleet has been sending probes into unexplored areas in order to collect data and decide what areas are best for exportation. One such area of space has sparked interest after several probes have been destroyed shortly after entering it. Last sensor reading from all such long range probes have hinted a Hirogen cause.

The USS Hephaistos is hereby ordered to investigate this area and determine the cause and reason for the destruction of our long range probes. Captain James Warrington you are ordered to proceed with caution when entering this unexplored, unclaimed area of space.

By Order of:
Captain Taylor Wood, Task Force 37 Commanding Officer, 11th Feet.
The progression of this mission shall be left to the CO with the main objective being establishing the Hirogen presence in the area.

Mission Completion Report:

The USS Hephaistos has successfully completed its mission of establishing an early warning sensor net. Using Hirogen technology recovered from a captured ship they were able to further mask and hide the relay bouys from Hirogen sensors. During the recovery of the ship the location of a base being used to raid supply lines was discovered and a task group was assembled. The group engaged the base and her defenders. During the engagement Hirogen forces fired on each other. It transpired that a disagreement had been taking place as some Hirogen had began to see Starfleet as worthy allies. Combined with these new friends the asteroid base was secured and a Hirogen delegation flown to Iota command to negotiate it's use.
